Holyhead

The largest town on Anglesey, and a busy ferry port would at first sight seem to sum Holyhead up, but look closer and you'll find a town steeped in history with an enviable cultural heritage.

Holyhead is a bustling town, with a wealth of shops, places to eat, a covered market, theatre and cinema as well as a leisure centre and an all-weather football pitch.

The area is a bird watchers paradise, and there is an RSPB centre at South Stack, whose other attractions are the spectacular cliffs and lighthouse. Also on Holy Island is the village of Trearddur Bay, a popular holiday spot
with a sandy beach.
