Dominating the North Wales landscape to the West are the majestic mountains of Snowdonia. Climb the summit of Snowdon, at 3,560ft the highest mountain in England and Wales or, for the less adventurous, the summit can be reached by the famous rack and pinion railway. The Snowdonia National Park is a magnet for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts. Most of Snowdonia's beautiful landscape is privately owned. The Snowdonia National Park Authority helps people to enjoy and appreciate the area as well as protecting and preserving it.
Escape to a land with a faraway feel. The Llyn Peninsula offers intriguing coastal towns, sandy beaches and some of the best sailing and surfing in North Wales. This mountainous coast is famous for its castles, slate mines and narrow gauge steam trains, or take a trip to Ynys Enlli - Bardsey - the island of 20,000 saints.
